Dear Cordelia,
I am writing to my beloved Cordelia to inform you of my deepest regret when I banished you from your kingdom. I allowed my anger to cloud my judgement thereby causing me to make the wrong decision. I have come to the realization that you and you alone deserve the highest honour that a father could bestow upon their off spring. I treated you abominably.
As for your two sisters, Regan and Gionrel they appeared to be as innocent as doves, but when I condemned you to exile their true identity was revealed- wolves in sheep clothing. They are plotting against me to over throw our kingdom. There is no longer peace amongst the people.Under their rulership anarchy has replaced peace in our kingdom. Cordelia you are as pure as snow with a heart filled with kindness, mercy and tenderness and only you can reclaim the respect of a kingdom and restore peace. Cordelia your own sisters, your own sisters who you grew up with are destroying your birth right, the place that holds so many happy memories of your childhood. I am pleading with you Cordelia come home and save your kingdom.
Cordelia you can restore the kingdom to its former state. Regan and Gionrel and their husbands control the land with harsh rules and regulations. I the King, the King of the kingdom have nothing, nothing Cordelia, nothing. I know I treated you disgracefully and I do not deserve your forgiveness but I know you are not like your sisters and do not hold resentment for eternity. Regan, Gionrel and their husbands have built a strong coalition against your farther. Should I have really called myself your father, at present I should be known as your humble servant.
If you fail to return I will wither and die. My life would have finally ended from a desperately broken heart. I will cease to exist. I fall asleep and wake amongst the cattle in the barn. It is the best place for me to fall a sleep in death a fitting burial place for the crime I have committed against my own flesh and blood. I am at present weak from the unlawful banishment of my dearest Coredlia.
Grant me one wish that you will restore the kingdom to its former glory. I am pleading with you my fairest Coredlia even if you are unable to find it in your pure heart to forgive me take control of your kingdom and live a long and prosperous life with your King, may he always cherish and love my one and only daughter.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your life and live happily. From your father Lear.
