In the opening of the extract one.King Lear wants to give land to his three daughters Goneril,Cordelia and Regan.In the start of the book King Liar is getting old and he is giving his land to his three daughters.’King Lear asks his daughters we will divide the land which shall have the biggest land the average amount of land and the small land’.’King Lear also talks about the rival of the three daughters and how much they love him’.The daughter that loves him the most by saying the words that is more convincing will get the biggest land.

The first Daughter is Goneril the eldest daughter.’She says.’I love you more than words can wield and dearer than eye sight space and liberty’. Than Cordelia jumped in and said ‘what shall Cordelia do love and be silent’.King Lear response was. ‘Of all the bounds even from this line to this with shadowy forests and with champains rich’d’.With plenteous rivers and wide skirted meads.’ We make thee lady: to thine and Albany’s issue. Be this perpetual. What says our second daughter.Our dearest Regan wife to Cornwall? Speak’ . By that text i think that Goneril wanted the biggest amount of land but it wasn’t that convincing. And i think that King Lear is very demanding by the words that he uses like we make thee lady and speak!And i also think that Cordelia likes to think a lot because when every body is speaking she mutters to herself to think whats she is going to say.

Regan responds to King Lear and says.’Sir i am made’.’Of the self same metal that  my sister is’.’And prize me at her worth.In my true heart’.;I find she names my very deed of love’.’Only she comes to short that i profess’.’Myself an enemy to all other joys’.’Which the most precious square of sense possesses’.’And find i am alone felicitate’.In your daer highness love.Coredila mutters.Then poor Cordelia! And yet not so since.I am sure my love.More richer than my tongue.From Regan speech i think that she doesn’t really mind about the land she thinks that she is the same as her sisters and what is the point arguing over land.

Cordelia says.’Nothing my lord.King Lear shouts Nothing!Cordelia Nothing’.From this point i think that Cordelia is like Regan she think’s that she has the same love as all her sisters and why should they be a difference between who loves there Dad more and she will say nothing.And she is the only honest daughter.So if all the other daughters were honest than Cordelia would probably get the biggest piece of land.

‘The person that I think would get the biggest pice of land would be Goneril because she lied but she was the most convincing’.’The second person would be Regan because she never said nothing like Cordelia she said some words’.’And the last person is Cordelia because she said nothing and King Lear response wasn’t good’.’But if the biggest pice of land was for who was the most honest it would go to Cordelia because she is 100% honest so that is my essay for King Lear and his three daughters Cordelia Regan and Goneril”.
